Block

To bookmark a Simulink component, its corresponding path has to be specified. However, it is time consuming to specify the component path corresponding to larger Simulink models. These difficulties can be eliminated by one of the additional features incorporated in Model Bookmarks, which is, Automatic Path Specification. This feature helps us to automatically specify the path of the selected Simulink component.

To specify the component path :

  1. Open the Simulink model whose component has to be bookmarked.
  2. Browse through the model and select the component that has to be bookmarked.
  3. In Model Bookmarks home window, under Subsystem or Block or Scope tab.
  4. Click on (+) button or pencil icon (Edit), corresponding window opens up. Now, click on GCB button to automatically specify the path of selected subsystem or block or scope respectively.

Bookmarks open type :

Considering the aforementioned things, Model Bookmarks offers a feature to specify the bookmark open type (i.e. to specify whether the bookmarked component is to be opened or highlighted or to show the mask parameters (if it is a masked subsystem), etc.) while bookmarking a component.

  1. Open System: This option helps us to open the bookmarked subsystem or block or scope.
  2. Show in Parent Subsystem: This option helps us to highlight the bookmarked component in its parent subsystem.
  3. Open Dialog Parameters: This option helps us to open function block parameters dialog box corresponding to the bookmarked component.
  4. Show Mask Parameters: This option helps us to open the masked parameter menu of the bookmarked subsystem (masked).
  5. Open Block Properties: This option helps us to open the block properties dialog box of the bookmarked component.
